The summit is easily accessible from the parking lot with one steep elevation gain and a couple more moderately strenuous climbs to the summit, which 0.9 mi from RT 119. The summit offers views of Mt Wachussetts and the Boston skyline. Bring a hammock and book and enjoy a sunny afternoon. Very popular winter hiking venue, too!

A great place to visit. The hike is fairly easy, depending on the trail you choose and your starting point. My in-laws live in the area and regularly take the whole family up to the summit and have done so with young children as well. Clearly marked trails with some decent snow shoe trails in winter. From the summit you can see for several miles on a clear day. There are also wild blueberries scattered across the mountain that make for a great trail snack. If going in summer, bring bug spray!

A nice easy hike with great views from the top. Don't miss the bald south summit with even better views down to the surrounding ponds and north along the Wapack range. Boston is even visible on a clear day!

Great effort/reward ratio for a hike with only about 600' of elevation gain. On a clear day Boston is easily visible from the open summit. Trails are clearly marked and we'll cared for by the Friends of the Wapack.

Wonderful hike! My kids loved it. (after 3, 7 and 9). Make sure you continue to the second summit for the best views. You can see Boston, Mt. Wachusett, and the White Mountains. We took our time on the summit and also picked wild blue berries on the way up and again on the way down. Total time spent 3:30.
